Our First Scofield Snow Ride

A couple of weekends ago Steve and I got a crash course in SNOWMOBILING 101 from our son Tony, you see we were preparing for our first ever Scofield Snow Ride. Tony has done this ride every year for quite a few years now. Ceresa went with him last year and blogged about it. And so they have wanted us to give it a try. To high lite the event about a 100 people get together with their snowmobiles take off on a groomed trail from Scofield Reservoir to Tucker Rest Area and back to Scofield this makes for about a 50 mile ride. This year Valentine's day was the big day for the ride. We were not laking in snow it was snowing when we left the house and snowed most of the day on the ride. With our lunch tickets and tee-shirts in hand time to get ready for the ride. Snowmobiles had to be unloaded, snow pant and boots put on and a little time for some photos before we hit the trail.Jennifer, Tony, Ceresa, myself and Steve.Amanda and Ryan (Tony's friend since childhood).
Photos finished we headed out, snow falling and all. We'd ride for aways, stopping here and there just to take in the scenery, grab a drink or to make sure everyone was staying warm and doing okay,
or taking time to watch Tony or Ryan weaving in and out of the trees.
And of course giving more time for picture taking.
Ceresa pretty in pink.

Do we look like professional snowmobilers? Not!A little horsing around by Tony and Ceresa. Snowballs thrown and of course someone is going to end up with a face full of snow. The ride was a blast! Other than having my goggles fog up a couple of times, and some of the bumpy ruts on the trail that was the only draw back on the ride. The scenery, the snow, and the company we were with was wonderful. We arrived at Tucker rest stop with lunch waiting for us. Bread bowls filled with Chili and Cheese, salad, crackers, and cookies. And hot cocoa.A drawing for prizes, and then time to get back on your snowmobile and the return ride.

Last but not least couldn't end the day with out a video of Tony and Ryan playing on the side of the mountain before loading up and heading home. These two know how to handle their machines. The video isn't the greatest am going to have to get out and record them again. Watching these guys is more than half the fun. What a beautiful day, snow and all. Wouldn't have to ask me twice I'd do it again in a heart beat.

Maybe I would like winter better if there were something fun like that to do. All I do is shovel it! You guys look like you did have a blast!
