First Outing of the Year

With Spring break and Easter weekend comes the first outing for the family, permitting the weather cooperates. Low and behold it looked like the weather was going to be nice for our first camping trip of the year. So it was out to the desert we headed, and rallied the camp trailers together.
Everybody had either a 4-wheeler or bike to ride. With new helmets on even the grandkids were ready to ride.
Didn't take much to get the big kids wanting to ride either.

We even got to do a little Geocaching while we were out. For those of you who don't know Geocaching is, it's an outdoor treasure-hunting game in which you use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational technique to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches"). A typical cache is a small container containing a logbook and "treasure," usually toys or trinkets of little value. There's caches all over the world. The grandkids love doing this with Grandpa. We found about 3 caches while we were out, finding them is a ton of fun. We found one cache at a place called "Giant Golf Ball on a Tee". Check out these pictures.

I had a great weekend, and I think everybody had a good time. Sure am glad to know summer is just around the corner and we'll be getting out again real soon. And as you can see some rode harder than others over the weekend and required some down time!

How fun! I'm glad the weather is getting nice there. I have been wanting to go camping, but we don't have any camping gear. The treasure hunt thing sounds like fun...I have never heard of that before. You taught me something new today!
